My fiance Crystal and I were invited to attend a seal release. I have some pictures <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cbaldwin/sets/72157594277019443/">here</a>. These seals were rehabilitated at <a href="http://www.vanaqua.org/mmrr/">Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre</a>. Each of the seals was adopted by a family who got to release them and give them a new name. It was a very class act.<br /><br />It took place in Lions Bay. There were about 30 people in attendance. There were some appetizers and some sparkling wine. Once the guests of <span onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)" class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">honour</span> arrived they were given half an hour to relax. Once they woke up from their nap the carriers were removed from the van and placed on the <span onclick="BLOG_clickHandler(this)" class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">boat launch</span>. Each adoptive family was called up in turn to release there seal.
